James Prokopovitz is on trial for killing his wife, 59-year-old Victoria Prokopovitz on April 25, 2013. He reported his wife missing on April 26, claiming she disappeared during the early morning hours. Her body was never found.
6 years later police arrested James in May 2019 to face counts of first-degree intentional homicide, obstructing police, conspiracy to commit perjury, and perjury.
Prosecutors allege James killed Victoria to have an affair with his old girlfriend, Kathy Friday. They were each charged with perjury and conspiracy to commit perjury. After pleading guilty, Kathy took her own life in 2020.
